Going Deeper How to overcome Premenstrual Syndrome

As a woman it is natural to have period monthly. Even then, women feel disturbed by symptoms that they get 4 or 5 days or a week before their period.

Those symptoms are medically called as Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and the most common PMS in women are-

  1. Breast tenderness
  2. Constipation
  3. Headaches
  4. Moodiness
  5. Abdominal cramping and vaginal cramp
  6. Lost appetite or eating a lot
  7. Fatigue
  8. Loss of libido


Methods to relieve PMS are

  1. Do exercise!

When women do exercises like Aerobic and Yoga regularly, it will relieve depression and fatigue more or less.

  1. Careful about what you consume

Reduce eating foods that are rich in caffeine, sugar and salts since 2 weeks before your period. Those foods can strain your pelvic bone muscles.

  1. Have enough sleep

When women don’t have enough sleep, they can have moodiness and headaches before period. Hence, reduce using phones and computer at night and try to sleep at least 7 hours a day.

  1. Reduce smoking and drinking

For women who drink and smoke, reduce it a week before period and you will find that your PMS are reduced. It would be best if you can avoid smoking and drinking completely.

Other methods

Other methods in relieving PMS are putting heating pad on the abdomen to relieve abdominal cramp and taking antibiotic as doctor instructed.
